My Summer Vacation

  When it comes to summer vacation, most people think of going abroad, playing computer games, or even sleeping until twelve a.m. , actually, I am an exception.
  Since my older sister, Annie, had an High School Entrance Test, my family did not take a trip to far tourist spots.  However, there were a lot of exhibitions in Taiwan this summer, so I learned a lot and also visited a number of secret corners in Kaohsiung. 
  The first two weeks, Annie hadn' t finished her test, so my dad took my brother and I to the Shou-Shan Zoo (壽山動物園).  As an older sister, I taught my brother a lot.  He even said,"Wow,Sherry! You' re a genius!  You' re awesome!  "  In fact, I only told him what the animals' names were.

After my sister completed the test, we went to a Chocolate Exhibition (巧克力特展) in the National Science Museum (科工館) with our neighbors.  Everything in the museum was made of chocolate or candy.  I was very surprised at Taiwanese artists' ability.  In addition, the whole building was full of the sweet fragrance.

 Also, this summer, the manager of Wu-Fu counselor' s office, teacher 陳政憲, has become the principal in 彌陀 junior high.  Because my mother was the principal and his wife' s university classmate, we visited his principal' s room and congradulated him there.

 Besides, that school is near to a harbor, therefore, we stayed there for a while and enjoyed some huge oyster omelets.  Each plate not only cost cheaply, about 50 to 60 dollars, but also tasted much fresher than the oyster omelets in the city.

 In August, we went to Taipei and stayed at the Yuan-Shan Hotel (圓山飯店) for a night.  My brother described it as "a temple without buddhas."  How cute he is!

At night, we went to the East district in Taipei and got in the largest Eslite Bookstore in Taiwan, the Shin-Yi Eslite.  This bookstore is five floors tall.  There were still many people at midnight.  (We arrived there at about 11:50 p.m. and bought the famous video, Three Idiots.)

The second day in Taipei, we went to National Palace Museum. To be honest, if people want to visit there, I would suggest them study some history before getting in. Or else, they could not be famliar with the artifacts in there. (I' m afraid of maybe I am one of them..Gosh! How embarrassed!)

 Later, I went to the Expo Dome to enjoy an exhibition recommended by lots of teachers, 會動的清明上河圖.  It was spectacular and fantastic!

The third week in August, I went to a horse farm, which is the best one in the southern Taiwan.  I fed them and also rode them.  I finally understood why lots of artists love to draw horses--they look  handsome and beautiful from various angles.

This is my first and last summer in junior high.  I grabbed this precious opportunity because I am clear that I have to prepare for the entrance test and could not relax well next summer. I am satisfied with all the activies this summer!
